Welcome to l'Atelier
Coffee, cooking, and shopping in the heart of Essaouira's medina.
Since 2017, l’Atelier has been a unique, multi-faceted space in Essaouira. First a trendy concept store organized into corners dedicated to local crafts, then a convivial café/tea room with a gourmet menu, and finally a cooking and tasting workshop where the scents of Moroccan culinary art float. At the entrance to the medina, this neo-industrial space occupies the first floor of a vast former almond warehouse.

Our Workshops
Our cooking and tasting workshops introduce you to the art of Moroccan cuisine (tajines, couscous, pastillas, gazelle horns…) and to Essaouira’s local products: honey, argan and olive oils, amlou, etc. They are given in small groups and by reservation in our large contemporary kitchen. The workshops are supervised by a professional trilingual team (Arabic, French, English). Initiations to embroidery are also organized on our premises, in partnership with a women’s cooperative in Essaouira.

Cosy coffee & Lunch break
Under the large solarium, enjoy an entirely “homemade” sweet menu all day long: hot drinks, fresh fruit juices, waffles, cookies, pastries, verrines and yogurts.
At lunchtime, we offer a daily fresh & healthy cuisine on the blackboard made with local products: salads, sandwiches, quiches, soups, etc.

Concept store
Entirely dedicated to Moroccan creations, our concept store is the essential shopping stopover to find trendy items Made in Morocco: crockery, tableware, household linen, candles, cushions and rugs, but also a selection selection of stationery items, vintage postcards, illustrated posters or contemporary photographs.
Our delicatessen section offers products from local cooperatives, carefully packaged: organic olive or argan oil, spices, culinary preparations, teas, infusions, coffees, etc.
